FreeWare

Welcome to the homepage of “Blocz” and “Tetris”. Both are games for any Acorn computers, and are free for anyone to download, run, and distribute (read help file inside each).

The games were both written in 1994, and are still enjoyable to play. Take a look at the screen shots below, and if you like it, download a copy and play for yourself (especially blockz). There is plenty of help in the game.

Any comments and suggestions are welcome, please mail me: at: mailto:dmj28@student.canterbury.ac.nz.

Blocz is a game in which formations of square units must be positioned on a grid to form solid “Blocz” of 3x3 (or more) units, which are then removed from the play area. The point of the game is to last as long as possible, and to gain a massive score.

There is a time limit for positioning each formation, and the quicker you are, the higher your score.

There are many different types of square units (see screenshot above). Each acts differently when removed from the play area (after forming Blockz). There are bombs which explode, missiles speed off, acid and sludge spills (purple stuff in the right image), keys get reversed, walls move back/forwards... and more.

Chain reactions occur where missiles detinate bombs, which detinate more bombs... which can clear the play area for you.

Everyones favorite game Tetris. This clone is nothing too special. It does feature a space backdrop, and the blocks are little rotating spheres which have white flame out the back when they fall.
